About us: St James’s Hospital is Ireland’s largest acute academic teaching hospital and is based in Dublin’s south inner city. Our fundamental purpose is the delivery of health treatment, care and diagnosis as well as health promotion and preventative services at local, regional and national levels. Our academic partner is Trinity College Dublin.

Purpose of the role: The role of the Communications Manager (Maternity Leave Contract) is to support the Head of Communications in creating, implementing and overseeing internal and external communications programmes that effectively promote the hospital and its employees, ensuring that all messaging aligns with the mission and strategic ambitions of the hospital and the Health Services Executive’s People Strategy. They will oversee the day-to day operations of the office, deputise for the Head of Communications when required, support out of hours work, and will work closely with the Head of Communications to advance the areas outlined above.
